CleanLearning is a comprehensive training and certification program for the cleaning industry. The program is based on Healthcare best practice cleaning and disinfection which can be applied to many different industry sectors, especially long-term care facilities, schools, doctor’s offices, hotels, and more.
What is CleanLearning?
Who should take the CleanLearning program?
CleanLearning was designed to provide organizations and individuals knowledge on best-practice cleaning and disinfection, to also raise the level of professionalism within the cleaning industry and most importantly, to provide individuals the knowledge and skills to safely lead cleaning teams or perform healthy cleaning tasks.
CleanLearning courses are designed to meet the needs of all levels of Housekeeping personnel, Managers, Supervisors, Lead-hands and FRONTLINE STAFF, regardless of the industry they support.
What types of certifications can be earned with CleanLearning Programs?
Certified Environmental Housekeeper (CEH) statues is the first level of certification and is designed for individuals delivering and performing housekeeping tasks.
This certification is recognized in the cleaning industry, and will assist individuals with achieving their employment goal as a healthcare housekeeper, custodian in schools, housekeeper in hotels and or cleaning professional in most sectors.
CEH certification provides potential employers a document of your achievement, professional skills gained and your understanding of how important and valuable best practice cleaning and disinfection is for an organization.
CEH certification inspires and motivates frontline staff as they understand how important their role is for infection prevention – What they do and how they do it MATTERS.
What is a CEM certification? Who is it for? Who might want this certification? Certified Environmental Management (CEM) is designed for housekeeping Managers of all levels or individuals with an objective to become a supervisor in the cleaning industry.
CEM is recognized by Canada’s leading Environmental Services Association – the Canadian Association of Environmental Management and will provide individuals with the skills required to lead their housekeeping team.
Achieving a CEM certification requires completing the CEH certification FIRST, so managers clearly understand requirements of their frontline staff and assist their team in delivering best practice cleaning and disinfection for the facility they support.
CET Certification- Certified Environmental Team
Organizations who support their entire housekeeping team through training and certification receive CET statues.
This is a high-level certification that should be proudly displayed in the entrance of your facility. Being CET Certified, demonstrates to your occupants that the cleaning team servicing the facility are trained on the absolute best practice cleaning and disinfection policies, and apply these practices to protect the facility investment, occupant safety and infection prevention. The CET Certification would be particularly beneficial for cleaning organizations bidding on cleaning contracts.

"Keith Sopha and his team at CleanLearning have created a best of class online cleaning certification training program that is extremely thorough, current, and engaging. Our whole team at Westech has gone through the program and it has enhanced our knowledge of cleaning to help us in our role as independent cleaning auditors. I strongly recommend the program for those who work in environmental services in Health Care, Education and Commercial facilities. As President of a third-party cleaning auditing company that has audited thousands of hospitals across Canada since 2000, I would have to say that certifying your cleaners on best practice is one of the most important action items you can do to ensure your hospitals are both clean and safe."

If you are looking for a great resource to learn the best environmental services standards in the healthcare field. We highly recommend using the CleanLearning program.
The program covered a lot of subjects, presented in well-structured models that were easy to absorb. Keith Sopha and his team has clearly put a lot of thought and experience into its program.
More than 50 of our Environmental Services Supervisors successfully completed the program and are currently CleanLearning CEM certified."

"We know that environmental services saves lives in health care settings. The Canadian Hospital Environmental Services Study (CHESS) published in the American Journal of Infection Control demonstrated clearly that training of environmental services providers is a critical requirement in providing effective cleaning services.
An effective and modern training program such as offered by the CleanLearning package is a welcome contribution in this regard."
