HOW IT WORKS:
There are 4 stages to get a course complete.
First, before we get to any stage, we start with a casual, no-commitment kick-off meeting with both teams to discuss the project. If both parties feel that it is a right fit, we move to stage 1.
1. Planning and Analysis
In the planning and analysis stage, our development team will chat with your team about your vision and goals for the project. We discuss and cover topics such as:
- The platform it is current on (if any)
- Requirements for the course (certifications, diplomas, etc)
- Possible assessments for the course
- Risk assessment
- Creative discussions
- Copyright and ownership considerations
- Course fees
- Project Timelines
- Fee's / Revenue share
The development stage covers off:
- Materials needed
- Media development (ie., Videos, interactive exercises, etc)
- Instructional content
The design stage covers off:
- Design and animation of the course
- Define the course structure
- Evaluation and interactive outcomes
- Voice over details
- Look and feel of the course
The implementation stage covers off:
- Quality assurance
- Training/Access to back-end of our Learning Management System
- Embedding the course catalog into your website
- Introducing course to our partners (if applicable)
- Learner feedback and surveys
Timelines depend on the size of the course and the amount of development required to complete the course. On average, the process takes approximately two to four months to work through the above stages and complete the project. Weekly meetings are scheduled to keep communication strong and approvals fast. We will help with all the best practices for online learning and consider all accessibility requirements for courses.
It will take approximately six to eight months to work through the phases and activities involved in completing a new or redevelopment project. The development activity is spread out over a long period of time to give all the members of the project team the flexibility to carry a workload of multiple projects and job duties. The elements of course development--such as developing media, writing content, and securing copyright permissions--take a significant amount of time to complete. As well, the team needs to consider accessibility requirements of course and web materials, quality assurance standards, and best practices in online learning.
