License Vs Certificate

When it comes to health & safety in North America, many people are always after their "license" for different types of equipment. But did you know, it's not really a license? The certificate or proof of completion is what you will receive upon completing the course. Licenses are monitored by a government body in which no training provider is monitored by a governing body for equipment like Forklifts, Aerial Work Platforms, or Cranes. Instead, governing bodies such as OSHA or the MOL puts the onis on the employer to ensure their employees are properly trained. Because of that reason, this is why companies pay for their employee's training. When a company pays for it, rather than telling its employees to "go get certified", it allows the employer to choose a reputable training provider.

Why is that important?
